God’s Man

When I was a little baby the milk I drank was pure

When I grew into childhood I gained strength to endure

So I let go of my blanket under His covering to stand

To put away my childish things and learn to be God’s man

And now I am still growing into a man of God

No longer to act like a child- that would be very odd

To babble like a baby, or darkenss still to fear

To cry to get my way and still hold my toys dear.

To feast on solid meat

To taste His word and find it sweet

No longer acting like a child

To find my way and God’s way reconciled!

To let go of my daydreams to hold onto God’s plan

To put away my foolishness I don’t even understand

I’ll gladly leave the cradle, but I’ll not release God’s hand

When I renounce my childish ways and learn to be God’s man!
