He is light He is Righteous, He is Love

It is light’s nature to shine and to show

It’s glory to reveal

And darkness flees from its great glow

To show us what is real

And so He shows us secrets

That behind a veil were hid

Reveals the mystery and He lets

Us see the work He did

For He is righteous right and sure

And righteousness will always do

What is right and what is pure

What is just and what is true.

But righteousness cannot abide

The sin of fallen man

And so sin separates us His bride

From His chamber we were banned

But He is love and love compels

To draw us to His righteous side

Yet love can not save us from hell

Til righteousness is satisfied

So one most holy, righteous

Who never compromised

So all for love he died for us

God’s demands satisfies.

He has become the mercy seat

The place where salvation is complete

Where righteousness and love meet

Jesus is our mercy seat.
