This is not the Way

This is not the way it’s supposed to be

This is not the life for which you set me free

This is not the life- It’s filled by pain and strife

No, this is not the life you meant for me.

This is not the way that I’m to go

This is not the peace that I should know

This is not the place of blessing and of grace

No this is not the promise I should show.

I sin in weariness

I complain and don’t confess

I know what is right out here in the light

But I’m making such a mess…

Save me savior, save me now

I don’t know the wherefore, I don’t know the how

Save me from my self destructive ways

Save me savior, save my soul

Savior take complete control

Save me lord Jesus I pray!

I’m afraid of my desires

I’m afraid of what this life requires

I know I need to be totally freed

But my hard heart easily tires….
