Laid Upon the Altar

I’ve placed so many blessings on this altar

I’ve seen so many more returned to me

In ways I dared not think to ask

Ways so much deeper than I could grasp.

But the best of them weren’t things that I could see.

May I never falter

As I lay upon the altar

All my hopes, desires, and dreams and nothing less…

For the altar is the place

Where I come to know your grace

And I come to know the  life of blessedness…

I’ve placed so many sins upon this altar

And I’ve seen the cleansing power transform my heart.

In the dying I learn to confess

I learn to live to righteousness

For by the sacrifice he made we are set apart.

May I never falter

To lay upon the alter

All my hopes desires and dreams and nothing less…

For the altar is the place

Where I come to know your grace

I come to know the  life of blessedness…
