Fiesta of Flesh

You flesh became bread of afliction

Your blood became wine of libation

Drink of redemption

Manna from Heaven

A feast in the wilderness

Spread out for your own

The vacancy inside our gut is filled with holy bread

The parched lips and dried up streams by living water fed

The food and drink of common men

The sustinence that saves from sin.

Pour yourselves into the broken vessel

Seal the cracks within my broken cisterns

The rock was smitten in the desert

And the fountains have poured forth

So I will eat and I will drink

I'll covenant a well to sink

Within the pastures of your flesh

Your body and blood leave me refreshed.

I will feed at your table

I will shun the blood of Abel

For a better dring that you provide

The blood that was poured out from your bleeding side…

A banquest not of leviathan

But of the substance of the son of Man.

You flesh became bread of afliction

Your blood became wine of libation

Drink of redemption

Manna from Heaven

A feast in the wilderness

Spread out for your own
