Day Four

Made to Last

We were made to last forever- everlasting

Created to endure God’s seasons of change

Made to persist through trials and through trusts

When the earth melts away we shall remain

We were made to last beyond eons

Made to mean more than mere time can enfold

We were formed with eternity in our hearts

And the ages shall not pass until the story’s told.

We’ll not make our last stand in our Jesus

Though we pray our last prayer on this earth

We’ll make all our songs sound this refrain

When we come to find life’s reason and it’s worth

We were made to last forever

In His presence or out in the night

Forever separated from His mercies

Or forever dwelling in His Holy light.

All is bound up in our maker and redeemer

A new beginning’s in His final call

We are made to last beyond the limits of this mortal vale

So be joined with Him who is our all in all!

Wov’n into the fabric of God’s eternity

Mere glimpses in shadow shall become what we’ll see

Where we walked by faith will one day be made sight

Where we once groaned our spirits speak outright.

Eternal Immortal, Ancient of Days

Everlasting, enduring receiver of praise

Ongoing, ne’er ending ever spoken word

Beyond the generations our voices shall be heard

We were made to last forever

In His presence or out in the night

Forever separated from His mercies

Or forever dwelling in His Holy light.
