Day 31_The Potter’s Art

Who modeled my shape and purpose?

Who finished these walls of mine?

Who wedged and prepared this clay

And determined my form and design?

You made me for a purpose

So I’ll do what I must

A product of the potter’s hand

Transformed from water and dust

Vessels conformed to the master’s will

An exhibition of His skill

Created to be His art on display

For He is the Potter and we are the clay.

Form us for functions that please you

For noble uses in a noble place

Mold us into the image you choose

And fill me with truth and grace

By the power and skill of your mighty hand

The master creator’s art

Takes form on His wheel ever turning

And whether we’re finished or broken apart

Vessels conformed to the master’s will

An exhibition of His skill

Created to be His art on display

For He is the Potter and we are the clay.
