Day 34 True Heart

My thoughts can get the best of me if I have my selfish way

They’ve often tried and tested me-take my attitudes, I pray

And give me gladness in return as I serve you and you alone

Help me never cease to learn that I am not on my own

A true heart, I would have a true heart

All I ask is that You search and see

Test if there be any way in me

That would steal my thoughts

To any other master than the one who bought

Me for His very own

By a servant’s heart I would be known.

Trustworthy in small things, a servant of the Lord

Trustworthy in all things, not a ruler in the world.

To have a heart that is true With gladness I would serve

I must find myself in You! And from this path I would not swerve

A true heart, I would have a true heart

All I ask is that You search and see

Test if there be any way in me

That would steal my thoughts

To any other master than the one who bought

Me for His very own

By a servant’s heart I would be known.
