Open the Windows

If the eyes of the windows to the soul

Then prayers are the windows to the heart

With the Spirit in control

We open the windows to our innermost part

And with the shutters open wide

We reveal who lives inside

So open the windows, let the light in

So others can see who is dwelling within

Open the Windows and show what is true

So God will get glory for what is on view.

With eyes  and heart  wide open

God’s light will shine through

Prayers that are groanings

And prayers that are true

Expressing the depths of out innermost parts

The intimate longings of our hearts

Eyes of compassion, prayers of delight

Or pure intercession, confusion or plight

To see a heart clearly, to see it aright

You must look on what’s hiddenright there in plain sight.
