The Crimson Cross

The Crimson Cross

When I stand beneath the shadow of the crimson cross

I stand armored for the battle counting all the cost

When I look upon the crossbeams where my Lord was nailed

I would nail there all my own desires Where my Lord prevailed

At the cross, at the crimson cross

Where the blood was shed that we could be free

At the cross the crimson cross

Where we are made one with god for eternity

Dying there he bore my sorrow bore my sin and death

Crucified and pierced for my sins, breathing his last breath

Jesus died toÝ bear my guilt He died to bear my shame

Dead and buried in the tomb He rose to end my blame.

At the cross, at the crimson cross

Where the blood was shed that we could be free

At the cross the crimson cross

Where we are made one with god for eternity
