Heart of Stone

Heart of Stone

Lord break my bonds and set me free

Within your will and not my own

Is where I desperately, fervently want to be

Lord wonít you melt my heart of stone?

Lord, take away depraved desires

Until I desire you alone.

Burn my dross till it is lost here within your holy fire

Lord wonít you melt this heart of stone?

Bruise me deeply if you must in places yet unknown

Until pain purifies my trust. Lord melt this heart of stone.

The hardest heart your holy hammer breaks

What ever is needed whatever it takes

Those you love you will chastise

This is truth on which my heart relies.

Lord, turn this harness by your love

Change this self righteousness and pride

Into a compassion from above

Until this hardened heart is crucified

Bruise me deeply if you must in places yet unknown

Until pain purifies my trust. Lord melt this heart of stone.

The hardest heart your holy hammer breaks

What ever is needed whatever it takes

Those you love you will chastise

This is truth on which my heart relies.
